Medical Assistant - Behavioral Health (Temporary)

Job Overview

Provide temporary Medical Assistant support for behavioral-health programs, including medication-assisted treatment, telepsychiatry, and social-determinants-of-health services. Schedule and coordinate patient and follow-up care, verify eligibility, obtain authorizations, process and communicate referrals, arrange appointments, follow up on outstanding services, and obtain and document consultation or progress reports. Support providers, advanced practice clinicians, and registered nurses while helping maintain accurate electronic health-record and care-coordination workflows.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Medical Assistant certificate from an accredited program
• Current Basic Life Support certification that meets employer standards
• One year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology
• Ability to coordinate referrals, eligibility, authorizations, appointments, and follow-up care
• Electronic health record experience preferred
• Intermediate computer and accurate data-entry skills
• Ability to exercise judgment, flexibility, compassion, and cultural awareness
• Ability to multitask, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Availability for a temporary full-time assignment
