Medical Assistant

Job Overview

Perform a broad range of patient-care and clinic-support activities under clinical leadership to help patients receive prompt, high-quality care. Follow established clinical procedures, prepare and handle laboratory specimens, support documentation and compliance requirements, and perform waived testing and phlebotomy when trained and authorized. Work with providers and clinic staff to maintain safe, efficient ambulatory-care operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant diploma from an approved training course
• Current American Heart Association healthcare-provider Basic Life Support certification or accepted equivalent
• At least one year of similar ambulatory-care experience highly desirable
• Ability to follow established patient-care, specimen-handling, safety, and compliance procedures
• Training and competency in waived testing and phlebotomy when those duties are assigned
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-service skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
